Shark fining is a huge problem across the globe. It is killing around 100 million sharks a year. If shark products don't have a high demand then fining will decrease. The goal is to ban several, if not all states in the U.S. from importing shark products, such as fins. Shark populations have declined dramatically over the last 10 years. sharks mature slowly and produce few offspring, so fining makes it tremendously hard for shark to keep up. Our ocean depends on sharks. Without a healthy ocean our world as we know it will be affected dramatically in a harmful way. There are many species that are on the brink of extinction due to the fact of mass slaughter from fining. In order to help end finning there needs to be a ban of shark products and consumption within the U.S. This means our governors can choose to ban and importing of these products.
