THE NDIS FAILED SYSTEM
THE NDIS FAILED SYSTEM
As a participant of the NDIS I am disappointed with the system and the discrimination that the agency you are responsible for behaves and how it treats me and 10,000’s of other participants. Minister it is your responsibility for the effectiveness of this system and I respectfully say if you are unfit to do this that you stand down or be removed as Minister.
Although I cannot speak for other individuals, I stand by them. I can say that as a member of several Facebook groups about the NDIA and NDIS with over 100,000’s participants the stories are consistent about the poor treatment and discrimination participants are exposed to.
It upsets me as a person with a disability that participants are treated poorly, spoken at, spoken down to and not listened to. The voices of these people and the issues they are experiencing (and discrimination) are consistent which substantiates enough evidence that the system is broken. Minister Robert you are allowing your agency to behave in this manner, and you are doing nothing other than making this system unfairer and exposing venerable people to ongoing discrimination.
I know over hundreds of people in these groups have written to your office and you have ignored their emails or referred them back to the NDIS or NDIA who we are complaining about. This is not leadership or the way a complaint should be managed. I know people and advocates have requested to meet with you and you have had the agency (NDIA) reply on your behalf advising you are not available. It is interesting that all replies are so generic that it insults everyone’s intelligence and the message is identical.
What I can do is guarantee you that we will not be silenced, we will not be discriminated against by the Government of Australia. We will walk the streets in protest, and we will reach out to every disability group and media medium to make sure that the people of Australia that you are supposed to represent are being ignored by and that you are scrutinised for your incompetence.
The legislation is not compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth). It discriminates against people with disabilities in so many sections of the Act.
Minister Robert we urge you to accept responsibility of your portfolio and that you acknowledge that you are failing the people of Australia with disabilities, the ones you have been employed to represent.
