We call on Christopher Luxon to publicly condemn military action against Iran that breaches international law and to reaffirm New Zealand’s commitment to diplomacy, the UN Charter, and a rules-based international order. On Saturday February 28, the United States and Israel launched multiple illegal military strikes on Iranian territory. This had led to the confirmed deaths of thousands due to this unnecessary war. AIPAC which stands for "American Israeli Political Affairs Committee", is an Israeli lobbying group who have paid Donald Trump over 230 million. That money gives someone like Benjamin Netanyahu the ability to practically use bribery to pressure Trump into military action against Iran. Many people that are close to Trump including Tucker Carlson, have said that for months, he never wanted a war with Iran and Benjamin Netanyahu did. It was because of the pressure from Israel, but trump still did it unfortunately.
