Yesterday a meeting was held between the Victorian Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio, her top advisers, Sustainability Vic, Solar Vic, DELWP, the Clean Energy Council and Industry representatives. It is worth noting that the minister came in from her holidays for this meeting so she understands exactly how urgent this is.

Bobbi McKibbin was present at the meeting and reported back with “It was a great meeting. They most certainly heard our concerns fears & facts & are really keen to find a resolution.

The petition and supporting letters from you guys plus our own accounts were exactly what the needed and were looking for. The petition and letters gave weight.”

“We are back there at on Tuesday afternoon for more discussions including a way forward in coming years so this does not happen again. And I can say that if it was not for Easter they would have had us back there either today or Monday as they see this as a matter of urgency as we do.”

What can you do between now and then?

-       If you haven’t already shared this petition to other effected persons, please do so. This includes co-workers, employees, family and solar customers who have been caught out.

-       The testimonials requested in our last update were well received, so more of those are always welcome

-       For the solar businesses: We are having trouble getting a grasp on the numbers of clients affected, which the Minister is interested to know. We know that there were many clients that are currently in limbo; those that  have paid deposits, signed contracts or even had their installations done but had not yet applied for the rebate. If you can provided us with any numbers that you’re aware of from your clients, please let us know by email below. Please note that this should not include projected sales opportunities missed; we really need to work with real numbers rather than speculation.
