The Human society becomes "humane" not only with the development of a clean, green City of Joy, but with the developing minds and budding sentiments of the civilians towards other civilians and towards the city. 

The city of Kolkata houses people from different sectors each with certain differences yet sentimental strings of harmony peace and brotherhood ties the people of this city together. We laugh, we live, we give, we love and we care. 

Still, something stays MISSING!! That love for our locality, for our neighbours and the other members of the community is dwindling. The animals in the street, are not being looked up as "living creatures" but rather as "filth". The Educated generation of Kolkatans' Ask: "Why??" The street dogs, are they not our community members? Were they not born in our locality! The locality with its ponds, galli, street mandirs, stalls and road corners - belong to them too!! They were born there, they deserve to live there - "with Dignity". 

They protect our Roads and local suburbs, road stalls and houses at night or during the day --- because they look at our local roads, as their own loyal "den" , their home.

Yet sometimes and most disturbingly 'everyday' thousands of stray dogs are brutally tortured, jeered, thrashed and threatened, jabbed, kicked, thrown away or even killed. This barbaric act of threatening behavior, can it continue in a civilized community?! Is It not an act of Shame upon the community, and the people of Bengal!!

What will the Tourists of the World say, has anyone thought?!! What will the civilized world say -- when it looks upon such lowly acts committed with brutal confidence and unfaltering amusement, I wonder. The educated generation of the people of Bengal, wonder. The civilized World , wonders.

Can an Act be not put to effect upon any threatening behavior sighted in harming the terror-stricken stray dogs, Kolkata!! Can the Torture, not be stopped?!!

It should be an important measure, taken up by our Ministers and the police force of Bengal to bring peaceful co-existence of the people with strays in our city. We want the official bodies to look into this matter. It could be made effective, if the police officers and local surgeons of police, lodge a fine on people harming the stray civilians (dogs, cats, etc) of the community; such that the fine be on Indian currency on a triple-digit number.The Strays should be protected and cordially treated to.

Scientists claim that a  person harming an inferior animal in the society for personal pleasure, has a criminal mentality and can inflict harm to other civilians (if needs arise as such), especially on children. Rearing such criminal minds, is a shame on our Society.The other countries of the developed world, showcase their "developed" innate trait by their meekness and modesty towards the animal members of the community. America boasts of having people that feed ducks and stray cats, or dogs or other animal members on a daily morning routine basis, it giving them peace at the end of the day.Nepal has a cultural festival of dogs: celebrating the truth, loyalty and honesty that every dog offers to the society; they being decked with garlands and showered with sweets during the same. The holy "sindoor" is even applied on the dogs' forehead at times.

In this modern era, we Pledge Humans to awaken.

Humans and strays- Should peacefully coexist.Laws should be strengthened and made effective by the efficient law keepers.

The Police, and our ministers have a role to play.

During the modern times, of asking a  "developed" state --- we request a "DEVELOPED COMMUNITY" beholding "developed minds" and housing "developed citizens". Our thoughts ...ultimately makes "Our Society". So, if we, the people of Bengal can not Think "clean" our City will never be 'a clean' city and a 'green city'.

Shed the "differences" ...and let us all be together,and one; as we all are creatures of God.

Ecological Coexistence, as  Scientists'  explain state the stable coexistence of species as an interaction between them, without harming or depleting the other species from the niche or the ecosystem. Without one member, our Ecology won't be complete, and our Ecosystem will get Destroyed. The "dog" is one such member of our Eco system with whom we need to peacefully "coexist".

Or Else, our Ecology will suffer and, our Ecosystem fail.

An animal of God's creation - a Dog. As we most preferably always know -- All great friendship starts with a "paw-shake". Reach out.

Let us Be as One -- Not as a "Human" , but by being "Humane".

Let us join hands to a "BETTER, CLEANER and DEVELOPED Bengal!!
