The Killing of Canon By The Aceh Singkil Satpol PP Must Be Brought To Justice
The killing of Canon, by Satpol PP Aceh Singkil in the context of implementing 'Halal Tourism' based on Circular No. 556.4/110 starting November 5, 2021 must be brought to justice. Canon is a dog that is close to humans and children, while the Head of Satpol PP stated that Canon often chases people, but the video shown that Canon was in chained when and left at the front of the owner's restaurant.
The video proved the rudeness of the Satpol PP who uses wood to strangled the neck of frightened Canon. After successfully immobilizing Canon, the Satpol PP took him in a sack, and when the owner was going to picked up Canon the Satpol PP custody, it turned out that Canon had died. We demand the Police to apply Article 302 of the Criminal Code and all related articles and regulation on pet abuse on this case.
The head of the Aceh Singkil Satpol PP, Mr. Ahmad Yani, must be held responsible for this killing, unless he could point his finger on one of his subordinate as the one who responsible of the killing. Bring the dog killer to justice, through the law, and send him/them to prison.
Aceh is part of Indonesia, and Indonesia already signed the United Nation Resolution No. 39/46 known as the "Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment", dated 10th of December 1984, ratificate it with 'UU No. 5 Tahun 1998', therefore must comply to it.
