UK cavalier breeders can still choose to take risks when breeding puppies that will become much loved family pets. Their purpose may not be to cause pain but to produce what they see as the ideal type of cavalier, but in choosing not to test breeding dogs for inherited diseases they are callously and cruelly producing cavaliers that will suffer and die young. Other countries have mandatory health testing schemes that are successful, so why does the Kennel Club allow torture breeding of Cavaliers to continue?
