🔥 Update Summary
Quentin’s fight for justice continues. After years of wrongful conviction battles and repeated delays, the attorney once assigned to help him — Marcy Cascio-Hale — ran for and became the State’s Attorney in the same county prosecuting his case, creating a serious conflict of interest. Since then, a key witness has come forward admitting he lied under pressure from prosecutors. Despite all of this, Quentin’s post-conviction petition was dismissed, and he is now appealing. We need your help to expose the corruption in Jackson County, Illinois, and demand accountability.

📢 Please share Quentin’s story, sign, and spread this petition to help bring truth and justice to light!

Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since our last update — and so much has happened since then. First, please know that we are still fighting and deeply appreciate everyone who has stood beside us through this long, painful battle. 🙏

⚖️ Where Things Stood
When we last updated you, Quentin was still in the post-conviction phase. Unfortunately, this process kept being repeatedly delayed because Jackson County has too few public defenders. The county often contracts private attorneys who take on these cases, do little or no work, then move on — forcing people like Quentin to start over every six months.

👩‍⚖️ A New Attorney... and a New Problem
In October 2023, Quentin was appointed a new attorney, Mrs. Marcy Cascio-Hale.
At first, she told Quentin she was “in it to win it.” She said his filings looked strong and she just needed to amend them.

But soon after, she stopped responding to his calls and emails. I later discovered she was running for Jackson County State’s Attorney — a fact she never told Quentin or any of her clients.

Then she sent Quentin a letter saying his case had “no merit” and pressured him to drop his claims of prosecutorial misconduct. When he refused, she threatened to withdraw as his attorney.

⚠️ Conflict of Interest
Mrs. Cascio-Hale filed a motion to withdraw from Quentin’s case. Quentin objected, pointing out the clear conflict of interest — she was running for the same office responsible for prosecuting him.

I contacted the current State’s Attorney, Mr. Cervantez, and arranged a meeting. I flew from Florida to Illinois to meet with him and Assistant State’s Attorney Jessica Beaty.

Mr. Cervantez admitted he hadn’t yet reviewed Quentin’s case but agreed it deserved a second look. He said if he found any wrongdoing, he would make it right. He also said it was morally wrong for Cascio-Hale to represent clients while running for State’s Attorney, as her potential victory would create widespread conflicts requiring special prosecutors for every case she handled.

✍️ Quentin Stands Alone
After Cascio-Hale withdrew, the court told Quentin it wasn’t required to appoint another attorney. So Quentin bravely decided to represent himself (pro se) and filed his post-conviction appeal on his own.

As we waited for the State’s response, the Assistant State’s Attorney requested two extensions, saying she was finishing another case before turning to Quentin’s.

🗳️ Election Fallout
Then came the election. After a close race, Mrs. Cascio-Hale won and became the new State’s Attorney of Jackson County, effective December 1, 2024.

I contacted Jessica Beaty to ask if Quentin’s response could be completed before Cascio-Hale officially took office. Jessica explained that because Cascio-Hale had already assumed the role, no one in the office could touch Quentin’s case due to the conflict.

She asked whether I wanted my documents back or if she should forward them to whoever would handle the case next. I asked her to send everything to the special prosecutor.

👩‍💼 A Special Prosecutor Steps In
By January 2025, Special Prosecutor Crystal Uhe was assigned to Quentin’s case.
By February, she filed to have Quentin’s petition dismissed.

In May 2025, the court sided with the State and dismissed his petition.
Now, Quentin is appealing the decision to the Appellate Court.

💥 Breaking News: Witness Recants His Testimony
Remember the “jailhouse informant” Mosezell Jones?
He has now admitted he lied in court.

Jones wrote me a letter confessing that he was promised by former State’s Attorney Michael Carr that charges he and his son were facing would “go away” if he testified against Quentin.

He also revealed that the State told him exactly what to say in court.
Jones is currently incarcerated in federal custody and has provided this written admission voluntarily.

The Fight Is NOT Over
We are far from finished. The outpouring of support — your prayers, your phone calls, your messages — made a real difference before. It helped bring attention to Quentin’s case and opened the door for critical conversations.

Now, we need your voices again.
We must expose the corruption in Jackson County, Illinois, and hold former State’s Attorney Michael Carr accountable — the same man who endorsed Marcy Cascio-Hale in her campaign.

Please help us by sharing Quentin’s story.
Spread this petition on all platforms — Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, anywhere.
The more eyes we reach, the more pressure we can put on the system to do the right thing.

🙏 Thank You
The fight for Quentin’s freedom continues, and we will not stop until justice is served.
Thank you all for your unwavering love, strength, and faith.

God bless you all.
