As one of the leaders in a global anti-vaccine cult, Sherri Tenpenny represents a danger to Australian children and society as a whole due to her extremist and uneducated views regarding vaccination. Her beliefs include that vaccines have never been proven safe or effective and that vaccines do not work. Not only are these outlandish claims proven to be wrong time and time again by scientific research, they are a very real threat to society when people start to believe in them. She preys on the vulnerable, naive and uneducated who don't question the outdated and unproven sources she selectively spoon feeds them.

Sherri Tenpenny and the anti-vaccination extremists pose a severe threat to Australian society with their uneducated bogus claims. Because of this, Sherri Tenpenny should be denied a Visa on the grounds of not meeting character requirements.

On the Department of Immigrations website  it clearly states that those "who want to enter or stay in Australia must satisfy the character requirement as set out in Section 501 of the Migration Act 1958 (the Act). This includes all non-citizens, sponsors of visa applicants and non-migrating family members seeking to enter or stay in Australia." It is evident that Tenpenny does not meet the following requirements as her visiting Australia and speaking at conferences would:

• incite discord in the Australian community or in a part of it
• be a danger to the Australian community or a part of it. 

She is also otherwise not of good character.

Signing this petition will help stop the spread of misinformation regarding vaccinations. It will prevent further vulnerable people being lulled into a false sense of security of unproven or fraudulent medical practices.

Can the right to freedom of opinion and expression be limited?

In addition, under article 19(3) freedom of expression may be limited as provided for by law and when necessary to protect the rights or reputations of others, national security, public order, or public health or morals. This is not a freedom of speech issue. No one is stopping her from preaching the fraudulent facts and misinformation. However, we are not obligated to provide her a platform here.
We do not condone the scamming of money on behalf of a non-registered charity/foundation. 
Any "freedom of speech" ends when the endangerment of children and the vulnerable begins. 

Resistance to anti vaccination advocates shouldn't be a free speech issue. It's a public health and safety issue.
