I moved to TN from IL to try and get away from the rampant gender based discrimination in the IL child support department and courts.

I have asked TN to help intervene to fix the issues they have refused to help with (this will be on another petition). I have been receiving $10/month in current support for over a decade. I now have 2 children as a single father, and yes like 95% of other Fathers who have their children, there is a damn good reason they are with me now.

When I asked TN for help it was to start collecting for my daughter of 7 and fix the per month rate IL refuses to change on my 16 year old son. In 6 months here is what TN has done:

They transferred the administrator of my child support debit card to a new one administered solely by Chase Bank (aka: JP Morgan). There is no choice as to who provides this. A few weeks after that, I received a disclosure of fees from Chase.

It states:

1. No fee if you swipe the card as a credit. (Whereby forcing the merchant to pay their fees)

Otherwise we will:

2. If you use the card as debit and enter your pin a charge of $.25 will be deducted from your child support account.

3. If you use an ATM to get cash a charge of $.25 on top of the ATM fee will be deducted from your child support.

And lastly,

4. If you dare to waste their time by even calling to check your balance a charge of $.25 will be deducted from your child support.

So folks, there you have it. Every parent that gets child support administered on the debit card program in TN (and any other state they have gotten to go along with them) is subject to this. They are not nickel and diming us, they are quartering us one transaction at a time!

THESE FEES ARE BEING TAKEN FROM THE FUNDS MEANT TO FEED AND CLOTHE OUR CHILDREN!

None can honestly believe that it costs $.25 per transaction, so all that is left to conclude that the state department has given this to JP Morgan as an income stream. This has to stop.

The children of separations/divorces/abusive environments have been victimized enough!
