It is Time to Expand Our Notion of Human Rights

The Issue

Human Rights? What are they? Who needs them? How do we achieve our goals once we have set them?

We have seen numerous fights over these questions and notions throughout the course of human history, and it is of utmost importance that we address them now before it becomes too late.

When we think of Human Rights, we generally tend to think about things like Equality, Right to Life, Liberty, Judicial Rights, Freedom of Religion, and stuff like that. As do lots of other people, I say that the current understanding of Human Rights is too minimal and without necessary substance.

I am not saying that Racial Equality, Women's Empowerment, and other such movements and actions are not important, in fact I am a huge supporter and enthusiast of those actions, rather, what I am saying is that unless all these other Rights are introduced, we cannot truly achieve the goals set by the statement 'Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness'.

   These are my Demands:

  • We need Education to become a Human Right!
  • We need Healthcare to become a Human Right!
  • We need Secure Employment to become a Human Right!
  • We need Judicial Rights to become a Human Right!
  • We need Refugee Rights to become a Human Right!
  • We need Political Freedom to become a Human Right!
  • We need Access to Information and Media to become a Human Right!
  • Protection against Unnecessary Violence and Actions by Security Forces to become a Human Right!

In all countries where these have been implemented and enforced, we have seen steady improvements in the quality of life and the contentment that people have with their lives.

These are the most pressing Rights that governments and people worldwide, in all spectrums, in all fields, in all aspects of life to understand, accept, and enforce.

There has been much change in the last ten decades, but we are all still far away from achieving the utopia that we all crave and want to live in.

This isn't about which political party you must vote for; this isn't about whom you must donate to; this isn't about which company you must buy things from; this isn't about which ideology you must refute. Instead, it's just about giving all human beings the fundamental rights that are by laws of Utopian Human Society inviolable and inalienable of us.

Of course, it's not that easy to implement these proposals as it is to talk about them, but it is imperative that we understand how important these are. Only if we understand that can we even make attempts to realize this goal of expanding our current notion of Human Rights.

That is why we need people to read this, to sign this petition, to help others understand the importance of it. Life isn't all a walk in the park, even if that's what we want to do. We need to first create that park so that we can walk in it.

It's time the world recognized Human Rights in the way it's supposed to be!

I also know that some of you may not agree with everything that I've said here, but if you feel that there is any sense, absolutely any, I ask you to sign this petition to improve the quality of life for everybody. If you feel that it is important, then please share it with friends, family, or anybody else.

I am young, just 15 years old, but I continue to convince people of the pressing necessity of these Human Rights that also need to be recognized - and other fundamental liberties - to as many people as possible.

I hope that you will support me in this mission.

Thank you.
