SAVE DIRECTION 180

SAVE DIRECTION 180

The Issue

We, the undersigned, are writing to bring attention to the need for funding from the municipal and provincial governments of Nova  Scotia to support the efforts of Direction 180 in providing treatment and harm reduction for those among us who are dealing with addiction to opioids. The evidence is clear that clinics such as this reduce crime, health risks, and the cost to society of  having people who are unable to work.

We are appealing for help as our funding is insufficient, leaving our 460 clients, and those waiting for our services, at risk of losing critical support.

The loss of Direction 180 would adversely affect the criminal justice system, the health care system, and the countless lives affected by this situation.

This is unacceptable in a society such as ours.

Thank you from the staff and clients of Direction 180 and those of us in the community who care deeply about our fellow human beings.
