We request the empowered leaders of the United Kingdom to donate five acres of land in Regent’s Park in Central London in order to build a Temple that celebrates the contribution of India's great spiritual culture to this country and the world.
The Temple will be non-sectarian and open to everyone from all walks of life and cultural or spiritual backgrounds. Focusing on the essence of the teachings of the great Vedic, spiritual classic the Bhagavad-gita which explains that not only every man, woman and child are spiritual beings connected to the one Supreme Lord, but that also every living being has the same eternal, unchangeable relationship and is worthy of respect.
The vision for the Temple is of iconic architecture that is so beautifully authentic that scholars, tourists and spiritual pilgrims from around the globe will flock in droves to examine and experience it's richness, which will sit like a jewel in crown of the London skyline.
This Temple is an unfulfilled desire of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of International Society for Krsna Consciousness who propagated the spiritual wisdom of India around the world. In 1969 he installed the first full sized marble Radha-Krishna deities in the western world in London and named Them "Radha-Londonisvara" - The Lord and Lady of London. Now 45 years later we feel that it is time for the vision of Their Temple to be fulfilled.
The Temple will be a spiritual oasis in a city bustling with business, education, politics, entertainment, and culture and in line with the age old Vedic tradition we feel that this Temple will also be of great value to the people of the UK for generations to come as it helps to deliver a more peaceful society of respect and appreciation, gratitude and forgiveness and inspires everyone to reflect more deeply on the ultimate goals of this human form of life.
It is with this in mind that we offer you the opportunity to do something wonderful for the future of mankind by making a bold statement that the United Kingdom holds in high regard cultural and spiritual values and is willing to invest in and celebrate its diversity.
