Newsies, is an amazing musical, about the Newsboy strike of 1899. After Joseph Pulitzer increases the price that the newsboys of New York must pay to buy from their distributors, Jack Kelly rallies the newsies into a strike, aided by his friend Davey, the second in command and brains of the union. To aid them, an aspiring news reporter, Katherine Plummer decides to help out and write about the boys crisis and the revolution begins. A very stunning musical to watch and absolutely shocking that Barker College hasn't done it yet. With many large ensemble numbers and dance numbers, Newsies is an awesome feel-good that gives voice to the children, and those who have been oppressed.
