Dear all,
Last night, vice-dean Matthew Roller participates in a town hall with concerned members of John Hopkins’ community—including many faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, and concerned affiliates. The room was packed enough that people needed to sit on the floor or stand, and energy was high.
The event exposed many contradictions and inconsistencies in the JHU administration’s logic, which will be noted in a further update. Unfortunately, Dean Beverly Wendland was unable to attend, and further steps need to be taken to ensure our concerns are addressed by those at Hopkins with sufficient decision-making ability.
Please see this JHU News-Letter article for an account of last night’s event: https://www.jhunewsletter.com/article/2019/11/students-protest-end-of-wgs-teaching-fellowships
