On March 26th, Noah, a senior at Brooklyn's Park Slope Collegiate High School - where students are required to pass through metal detectors daily under the watch of uniformed guards - was assaulted and detained by NYPD school safety agents over a pin he had been using for several weeks to hold together his broken eyeglasses.  As witnessed by several of Noah's classmates and by school staff, the safety agents brought him to the ground, pinned him down, and handcuffed him.

Following the incident, Noah was threatened with arrest and issued a summons for "violent and threatening behavior" that officers said amounted to Disorderly Conduct.  The summons requires Noah to appear in court on June 16, 2015.

At a meeting attended by Noah's father, the school's principal and Noah later that day, officials from the NYPD and DOE made it clear that the summons would be withdrawn.  Now, the NYPD and DOE have refused to confirm that the summons has been withdrawn and Noah must appear in court to defend himself.

We call upon the City, and its NYPD and DOE, to tell Noah that he will not be prosecuted for the events of March 26th.
