The British Government and Citizens: Recognize Somaliland

The Issue

Somaliland is a former British protectorate that united with Italian Somalia 5 days after independence in 1960.
After unmentinable tribulations under the southerners Somalilanders waged a war against Dictator Mohamed Siyad Barre after he utilized his airforce to kill residents of Hargeisa.
In 1991 the Somaliland National Movement- SNM managed to evict all somali forces and administration thus reclaim their sovereignty. 21 years later the country remains unrecognized despite numerous achievements like establishing sustainable Peace, security and co-existence, Effective democratisation which is envied by many wealthy nations etc.
Somaliland is not a region of somalia seeking separation but a country created by the British centuries ago with disitnct borders that were recognized for five days by the UN in 1960 following independence by Britain.
The international community that has for 21 ignored all the acheivements and determination of somalilanders continues to turn a blind eye to these achievements and deaf ear to the pleas while supporting somalia where extremists and warlords have turned life to something worthless.
The resilient people of Somaliland want the world to recognize their self determination
