Following my letter to the BBC regarding yet another repeat of Ford's Dagenham Dream on BBC4 last week, the BBC have replied back to me ... in the usual automatic, impersonal, we've barely read your letter, manner Many thanks for contacting us regarding 'Ford's Dagenham Dream'. > > I understand you are unhappy with the number of times this programme > has been repeated and have suggested alternative programmes which could > be repeated instead. > > Audience figures and viewers' comments show that people welcome the > opportunity to see programmes they may have missed. It's also very much > appreciated when viewers are given the opportunity to view past > programmes that they once thoroughly enjoyed the first time round. The > BBC aims to show repeats only where there is a genuine public interest > and demand. > > Our repeats policy inevitably represents a compromise between different > interests and is kept under constant review. We will make changes if we > believe they are necessary in light of audience feedback. > > Nevertheless, I would like to assure you that we value your feedback. > All complaints are sent to senior management and programme makers every > morning and we included your points in this overnight report. These > reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the BBC > and ensures that your complaint has been seen by the right people > quickly. This helps inform their decisions about current and future > output. > > Thank you once again for getting in touch. > > Kind regards > > Charles Donnelly > > BBC Complaints > > www.bbc.co.uk/complaints >
