Australia needs to transform to a hemp/cannabis accepting and using society, for all its many uses, Medically, industrially, and yes, dare I say it recreationally! Because relaxation and stress relief is therapeutic. Just ask someone with PTSD or any number of other similar problems.

 
Medicinal cannabis alone will be a multi billion dollar industry in the very near future! It's a proven safe medicine for many illness's and a very successful cancer treatment for many people all around the world! It's totally unacceptable for anyone to prohibit others using  natural, safe, plant based medicines for whatever reason they use them! Our government is not here to suppress natural medicines on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry! Governments job is to find what works and make sure it's available as soon as possible! Please don't hold up your medicinal cannabis legislation as acceptable in any way, It's not!  Allowing its use for a handful of medical conditions, with heavy restrictions doesn't even resemble compassion! Allowing the terminally ill to lessen their nausea as they die, of cancer when they could possibly have been cured by cannabis as a first option, makes the system look slightly psychopathic. For anyone who doubts the effectiveness of cannabis as a cancer treatment. Look up Rick Simpson oil, or ask around on the MCUA facebook site, or just google cannabis and cancer. Our healthcare system could be transformed using natural, safe and affordable treatments within our current system when we're ready to take that step. Do we wait till the system has completely failed, or do we act now?

 
Of course, industrial hemp is probably even more massive an industry than the pharmaceutical side of things, with paper, cloth, which is stronger and softer than cotton and a lot better for the environment!  Lubricating oils, and fuels that could wean us off our fossil fuel addictions! Safer more environmentally friendly plastics. To that we may as well add the nutritional benefits of hemp proteins and oils to humans and animals! Huge benefits that could fill a book on their own. Cannabis/hemp is a winner however you look at it.
We probably can't even imagine the number of jobs that will be created in rural areas with however many million acres of hemp to be planted!  But we can be sure it would be transformative for local economies! processing jobs spread throughout the country, the research jobs, medically and industrially! A whole industry just to build the equipment needed. Surely a golden age for the rural sector and the nation! Are we ready for something really big? I'd like to think so. 

With the worlds economies teetering on collapse, and our environment under such threat that the future of humanity itself is at stake, now is the time for the big decisions! This is not a plea to parliament for consideration, or the hope that something will be promised, for "sometime down the track"! Or a need for a referendum even! This is a demand for immediate changes, not hiding behind some "international obligations" story, while the country goes down the drain, and the people suffer! So for all you folks that take a wage to work for the people, now's the time! No politics, no fairy stories. Find out the facts, share the truth with the people, and you'll be supported. Then get together and make this happen. Be the one's that ushered in the greatest changes our country has ever seen! Australia needs a sustainable future! Together we can make it happen.

This petition's for those people "battling" cancer, epilepsy and a host of other ailments while we suppress treatments, And of course those that sadly, never had a chance to even know about it, because we ran, and listened to misinformation campaigns from reefer madness incorporated, on behalf of big business. Also a shout out to the compassionate suppliers that risk all to help their brothers and sisters when the government, as it often does! failed them. Of course there are always the fears that cannabis use will destroy our society! Well news flash folks, cannabis is everywhere, and has been for a long time, try thousands of years! Compared with alcohol and other legal, and illegal synthetic "drugs", cannabis is a divine plant! Give the youth a future, treat them right, and I think you'll find we don't have the drug problems we do now anyway.

I sincerely hope to see major changes before I appear in court in October, on Charges of growing a few plants to help my father who has cancer, and for my own health problems! Or I'll be asking whoever sits in the PMs seat to come to court and explain to the Judge, prosecutors and police, why they're still being used to persecute the people, while watching their own loved one's, friends and relatives die of cancer, or something else that could have been helped by this amazing plant. This is inhuman behaviour and needs to end. Probably better it end before the public realise their government has treated them with contempt, and it would seem, as slaves to be milked for corporate profits. I actually see these actions as crimes against humanity, but I'm not interested in staying in that, we need to move on. Really, It's time for a consciousness shift in the way we treat each other, and our planet. Many have envisioned this future, now it's time to materialise it!

Some of you will think this far fetched, and couldn't happen, but I say we're more than capable of doing great things! It just takes the will. Let's do this!
