กักขังฉันเถิด กักขังไป (ทำไม?)

 

 

ร่วมลงชื่อจดหมายเปิดผนึกถึงนายกเศรษฐา ทวีสิน เรียกร้องให้ปล่อยผู้ลี้ภัยชาวอุยกูร์จากห้องกักที่อยู่มา 10 ปี อย่าปล่อยให้มีคนตายเพิ่มอีกคนเลย !

มีนาคม 2567 เป็นเดือนครบรอบ 10 ปี ของการกักขังผู้ลี้ภัยชาวอุยกูร์ไว้ในห้องกักของสำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมือง จำนวน 48 คน ภายในสภาพแวดล้อมที่เลวร้าย บางคนอยู่ตั้งแต่เป็นเยาวชนจนโตอยู่ในห้องกัก ต้องตื่นนอน ซักผ้า อาบน้ำ ปัสสาวะ อุจจระ ภายในห้องเล็กๆ มีกิจวัตรเดิมๆ มาเป็นเวลา 1 ทศวรรษ ไม่มีพื้นที่ส่วนตัว ไม่สามารถติดต่อครอบครัว เข้าถึงแสงธรรมชาติได้น้อย ไม่มีทนาย จะได้ออกไปเจอหมอก็ตอนเมื่อป่วยหนักเท่านั้น ส่งผลให้หลายคนมีสุขภาพกายและสุขภาพจิตที่ย่ำแย่ 

ห้วงเวลา 10 ปีที่ผ่านมา มีคนเสียชีวิตไปแล้ว 5 คน โดยในปีที่แล้วมีผู้ลี้ภัยชาย 2 คนได้เสียชีวิตหลังจากนำส่งโรงพยาบาลเนื่องจากอาการป่วยและสุขภาพที่ย่ำแย่ โดยที่ทั้งสองเป็นพ่อคน พ่อที่ไม่มีแม้แต่โอกาสได้เห็นหน้า หรือติดต่อกับลูกก่อนเสียชีวิต รัฐบาลไทยจะต้องยุติการกักขังทันที และหาทางออกที่ยั่งยืนให้กับคนกลุ่มนี้อย่างเร่งด่วน 

“การกักขังอย่างไม่มีกำหนดเวลา และไม่มีการส่งออกไปยังประเทศที่สามกว่า 10 ปี เป็นการพรากชีวิต ครอบครัว เวลา โอกาส และศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์ของคนกลุ่มนี้ไปอย่างโหดร้าย”

ช่วยกันลงชื่อและกระจายจดหมายฉบับนี้ไปให้ถึงนายกรัฐมนตรี เรียกร้องให้แสดงจุดยืนเรื่องสิทธิมนุษยชนของไทยต่อประชาคมโลกที่จะช่วยส่งเสริมให้ได้รับการเลือกให้เป็นสมาชิกในคณะมนตรีสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติในปีนี้ โดยการคืนศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์ให้กับผู้ลี้ภัยชาวอุยกูร์ทั้งหมดที่อยู่ในการควบคุมของรัฐบาลไทย

Why have we been detained? 

 

 

Please sign an open letter to PM Srettha Thavisin to demand the release of Uyghur refugees from more than ten years of immigration detention. Do not let one more person die!

March 2024 marks a decade in immigration detention for 48 Uyghur refugees. Each lives in overcrowded and squalid conditions, waking every morning for 10 long years in a small holding cell with up to 100 others. These men, some first detained as children, are not allowed to contact anyone outside the detention centre. This means they have no contact with their families, friends,  no access to a lawyer and are able to see a doctor only when they get severely ill. This has contributed to the decline of their physical and mental health.  

In the past ten years, five Uyghur refugees have died in Thai immigration detention centers (IDCs). Last year, two of them, both fathers in their 40s, died soon after being brought to hospital. Both men died without the a chance to see their children before their deaths.  The Thai government must end such detention immediately and promptly explore a sustainable solution for the people.

“The indefinite detention and the lack of prospect for resettlement for more than ten years has brutally deprived them of their lives, their families, their opportunities and their human dignity.”

Please sign this petition to the Prime Minister of Thailand to urge the government to stand up for human rights and release the men. Thailand is hoping to be considered for candidature of the UN Human Rights Council this year. Thailand can show their commitment to human rights by restoring the human dignity of all Uyghur refugees who are being detained by the Thai government.
