I propose that 75,000 people sign this petition to show a want for relocation of the Big West Oil, Chevron, and Tesoro crude oil refineries out of Salt Lake Valley to aide in the reconstruction of damaged air quality. It isn't easy, and it does cost a good chunk of money, but it is possible and it has been done before. Mexico City had the worlds worst air pollution in the 90's due to localized oil refineries, until they got moved away from the city. Since then their air quality has dramatically increased. I aim to do the same for Salt Lake Valley. If these refineries can be moved away from the valley, I think we would rarely see an "Unhealthy" rating of air quality on the local news.

It is a huge step, and even if this petition doesn't result in a success, we can at least send a message. Thank you.
