Tesco, please sell recyclable Christmas wrapping paper.

The Issue

At a time when there is a big focus on reducing plastic, why is the large majority of Tesco’s Christmas wrapping paper non-recyclable ‘foil’ (plastic coated)?

There are only a few varieties of recyclable pure paper rolls and loads of ‘foil’ non-recyclable rolls. The labelling that shows which type the paper is is woefully inadequate. Because this is a paper product, which people generally think of as recyclable, Tesco either need to discontinue their ‘foil’ wrapping paper or label it much more clearly as non-recyclable and promote their pure paper varieties.

In the picture, one roll is marked recyclable, one is marked non-recyclable. Can you see the difference?
