Dear Friend

I hope you had a great Xmas.

As we move to the New Year, the big supermarkets have increased the numbers of staffed tills, maybe because so many of you hate the self-service-card-only-tills!

Is this just for Xmas? I think so!

In my local superstore Tesco's the number of self-service-card-only-tills decreased from l2 to 4 and tills were staffed to ensure that shoppers were able to have the 'personal' touch of being assisted by a customer services assistant.  This enables quick throughput and ensures that the footfall is not disrupted as people shop for additional items that they may be able to afford at Xmas.

I believe once the Xmas and New Year holidays are over that the tills will revert back to the ones so many of us can't use or deal with - self-service-card-only-tills that discriminate against many disabled people and are designed for the  benefit of the superstore and not customers.

Please visit your store in the next couple of weeks and let me know whether there are still staffed tills or whether the SSCOT's are back in evidence.
