Please Sign. I'm a student who has unfortunately been on the receiving end of the intrusive effects of GoGuardian. A supposed tool for boosting online safety in classrooms, GoGuardian has proven to be quite the opposite, making me and countless other students feel depressed and invaded in our personal lives. The system allows unrestricted access to our online activities, which is an overreach encroaching on our private lives.

As pointed out in a 2020 report by the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project, GoGuardian, along with similar platforms, grossly violates student privacy by enabling continuous surveillance (source: Surveillance Technology Oversight Project). The misuse of such tools can result in destructive incidents, such as cyber-stalking and unwarranted profiling based on students' online activities.

Additionally, according to studies conducted by the American Psychological Association, such a severe invasion of privacy in adolescents can lead to elevated levels of stress, depression, and anxiety (source: American Psychological Association). This further underscores the need to stop the use of GoGuardian in our schools.

We join together and call on our school administrators and officials alike to reconsider their stance on the use of GoGuardian.
