As a resident of our Homeowners Association (HOA) in Knoxville, TN, I have witnessed firsthand how our dues are being misused. The money we contribute is primarily used to pay the management company, Tallant HOA Property Management, LLC, and for tax return filings. This leaves little to no funds for community improvements or amenities that would enhance our quality of life.

It's time we take control back into our hands. We propose that the HOA becomes resident-managed instead of being managed by an external company. This way, we can ensure that our dues are invested back into the community where they belong.

In 2019 alone, homeowners associations across America collected approximately $95 billion in assessment fees from homeowners (source: Foundation for Community Association Research). A significant portion of these funds should be allocated towards improving communities and providing services to residents - not just paying management companies and covering administrative costs.

By canceling the contract with Tallant HOA Property Management, LLC and transitioning to a resident-managed HOA, we can ensure transparency in financial matters and make decisions that truly benefit us as residents.
