The need for change within Twin Rivers Unified School District has never been more urgent. As concerned citizens, parents, and educators, we demand accountability from our district leaders, and it's become painfully clear that Superintendent Dr. Steve Martinez has failed us in critical aspects.

Dr. Martinez and the current board have engaged in the systemic diversion of millions of dollars that should be used for student instruction into administrative reserves and other non-classroom expenditures, such as a $12 million upgrade to sports facilities at one of the TRUSD high schools.  We deserve transparency and responsible allocation of our precious resources. Students' education should always be the top priority, not padded administrative reserves.

Over 14 months have gone by without proper negotiation of new contracts for our dedicated teachers. This unlawful delay in proceedings and failure to appropriately use funds for school improvements is unacceptable. Our educators deserve fair contracts and the necessary resources to teach effectively, yet the district's leadership remains stagnant and unresponsive.  For example, Dr Martinez has shown no interest in helping with the negotiations in the current teachers’ strike.

Additionally, the district's failure to hire more credentialed teachers further impacts the quality of education available to our children. Dr. Martinez's lack of action jeopardizes the future of students in our community. Our schools need leaders who are committed to excellence, improvement, and support for educators and students alike.

We can no longer stand idly by while our children suffer the consequences of poor leadership. Demand the immediate termination of Superintendent Dr. Steve Martinez to open the door for transparent, responsible, and effective leadership within Twin Rivers Unified School District.
