Make Lovejoy High School NHS Results Public

Make Lovejoy High School NHS Results Public
The Issue
In the aftermath of the recent NHS election, one that had an unprecedented amount of competition with five different candidates running for president and many more for the other positions, the candidates have been left high-and-dry after the election. Rather than publicly release the results, the NHS administration has yet again chosen to keep them private, forcing the losing candidates to baselessly speculate on their loss without knowledge of how successful their campaign was, or whether it was even successful at all.
The lack of public election results is a slight to the transparency we expect from a prestigious organization like the NHS and is a great disservice to those who took time out of their busy schedules to run for what is essentially extracurricular. What is the incentive for running if you can't even see how well you performed? What reason does a losing candidate have to campaign again if all they can go off of is baseless hope? There is no morally sound rationale for keeping ANY election results private, be it NHS or any democratic organization.
With this petition, we're hoping to publicize the results of this election and future ones, for the benefit of the student body to see how well their candidates performed, and for the benefit of the candidates themselves, whom without we wouldn't have an NHS student body at all.
