This is a great start and we need to spread the word and get more signatures. We will have opportunities; along with other families facing these issues, to speak to legislators in Nashville this fall. We really want to see as many signatures as possible before we go. One Senator is already looking at legislation after we requested that they introduce a “Joshua’s law”. I’m asking each and everyone that has signed this petition to keep up with our cause. Other families have contacted us through our page and the situations they are facing is heartbreaking. Most of you would be shocked at what our family has faced and what we’ve been told. We begged for help for several years and only received it after a very severe outburst that left me with extensive injuries and it could no longer be ignored. During that severe outburst, we visited two ER rooms and couldn’t get mobile crisis to respond even though there was imminent danger of my son hurting hisself and others. This completely ignores guidelines set by the state on how to respond to situations like this and other families have also had these same responses. This is just one area we are asking for changes and many other issues need to be addressed also. Thanks Again, Vance & Kristy
