Vote NO on School Vouchers

The Issue

Tennessee public schools already rank near the bottom in funding, a voucher program would drain much needed public school funds. Instead of investing in our community schools to improve education for every child in every zip code, we will be allowing private schools to determine which students will be chosen. Vouchers providing families "School Choice" is a myth, the choice is not the student's, the choice is given to the private school...with your tax dollars. There is no categorical research that shows academic growth in students with vouchers, no evidence that it narrows the achievement gap as claimed. In both Louisiana and Wisconsin students who attended school on vouchers performed below the state average on standardized tests. Don't let legislators influenced by special interest money sell our students to the highest bidder. Let them know you care about public education, and we won't be supporting those legislators who support vouchers in 2016!
