More than 24,000 veterans are falling through the cracks in Tennessee. These women and men who have served their country are going without health insurance simply because they live in the Volunteer state. 

When Tennessee decided not expand Medicaid, it created a gap where many didn’t qualify for Medicaid and were not eligible for Obamacare subsidies. Many of these people are veterans, and we are working in Tennessee to help get them covered. While Medicaid expansion is just not politically possible in the state, there is a solution: the 3-Star Health Pilot.

The 3-Star Healthy Pilot was devised with medical professionals and elected officials across the aisle. It would expand TennCare to more than 24,000 veterans desperately in need of health insurance. If successful, it could expand to cover even more people who have been left behind. It could even be a model other states to follow if proven effective.

First, the plan needs to be approved by the Tennessee General Assembly. We need your support to show that Tennesseans want smart solutions to overcome our political differences. The 3-Star Healthy Pilot Program does that, making sure our veterans are not left behind due to politics as usual.
