Cell phone service in Metchosin currently ranges from poor to non-existent. Cell phone service providers (Telus, Rogers, Bell) require broad-based community support to build cell phone towers in our community. Telus previously proposed building a tower on the Knights of Columbus property in central Metchosin. Narrow but vocal opposition to the proposal, based primarily on scientifically baseless fears of emissions from the tower, led to the proposal’s failure. 

Cell phone service is important to our community. Mobile businesses need to be able to contact their offices and customers. Families need to stay in touch. In an emergency a cell phone call could save lives.

The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate support by the residents of Metchosin for cell phone service in Metchosin to Telus, Rogers, Bell and the District of Metchosin.
