Tell Trump: Hands Off Our Voting System That Works

Tell Trump: Hands Off Our Voting System That Works
The Issue
President Trump just announced he plans to sign an executive order to mandate voter ID, restrict mail-in voting, and ban voting machines nationwide.
Here’s the problem: he has no authority to do any of it.
The U.S. Constitution gives states—not the president—control over elections. Any changes to voting laws must come through state legislatures or Congress, not a social media post or a one-man decree from the White House.
This is not about election security. It’s about using federal power to suppress votes and create confusion ahead of the 2026 midterms.
We’re calling on:
Trump to stop attacking our functioning voting system
Congress and state leaders to publicly oppose this unconstitutional executive order
Election officials in all 50 states to reject any interference in state-run elections
Federal courts to block any executive orders that attempt to override state voting laws or disenfranchise voters.
Our voting system is far from perfect—but it works. And every eligible American deserves the freedom to vote without fear, confusion, or unnecessary obstacles.
This country doesn’t need a top-down voting mandate from a president who continues to spread disinformation about elections. We need local control, accessible ballots, and trusted rules—not authoritarian overreach.
