700,000 people die from drug-resistant infections every year. By 2050, that will rise to 10m people per year – more than cancer

This resistance is happening because our drugs are being overused and misused – and it threatens so much of the progress modern medicine has made. MRSA, pneumonia, gonorrhoea and tuberculosis are just some of the infections that are becoming harder to treat.

 The UN General Assembly meets on 21 September 2016. It’s only the third time in history that they’re debating a health issue. This time it’s on drug-resistant infections. We can’t miss this opportunity to tell the UN to take drug-resistant infections seriously.

This global problem needs united global action.
