Tell the Louisiana Legislature we must have a fair autonomous grievance process for public employee protections.
The Issue
The existing state employee grievance process does not guarantee autonomy. It positions the offending party in the grievance to be able to heavily influence and bias the deciding committee, thus controlling the outcome of the investigation.
Additionally, the State of Louisiana has entered into contracts with a majority of the employment attorneys while the ceiling for attorney fees in civil service appeals has not been increased in over a decade, limiting the pool of representation for classified civil service employees.
This petition is calling on legislators to provide adequate protection to state employees through the legislating of a more fair and just grievance procedure.
