With the Australian Federal election in full swing, NOW is the best time to let your local candidates know you want this development stopped.

Tell supporters of all colours waving and smiling at you on street corners that it's not OK to sell off public land for private profit, especially land that hosts endangered shorebirds and koalas which is meant to be protected as part of the international RAMSAR treaty. 

It would would be greatly appreciated if you could please take a minute to support Birdlife Australia's campaign to email the Federal Environment Minister and Shadow Environment Minister so they can see how many of us want to keep this tidal nursery special. It would be great if you'd like to add your name to their petition too. You can do this at http://www.birdsyoulove.org/ 

As far as I'm aware, the Australian Greens are the only party committed to stopping this development. Let's hope we can convince others to join them and future generations can still see a biodiverse, healthy bay.
