Tell NC Senate: Don't Put DOMA in the North Carolina Constitution

The Issue

North Carolina State Senator Jim Forrester has sponsored a DOMA bill that will write discrimination into North Carolina's state constitution.  The bill is similar to 1996 federal DOMA legislation which President Barack Obama recently decided to no longer defend through the Justice Department.

LGBT persons are already excluded from marriage or civil-unions in North Carolina.  State Senator Forrester's bill is an attempt to single out LGBT persons as second-class citizens within the state's constitution.

Tell State Senator Jim Forrester and his fellow co-sponsors to not write bigotry and discrimation into our nation's state constutitions.
