Dear community members and to the 9k petition signers. We are grateful that you signed our mother’s petition 4 years ago. It truly means a lot to us that you are invested in seeing our mother, Shajia, regain her freedom. We are happy to share that, after 12 years, our mother is being considered for a reduced sentence on Friday, July 19th at 11am. The hearing will take place at the Sacramento County Courthouse - 720 9th St, Sacramento, CA 95814

If you are local to Sacramento and can spare an hour to be present at her court hearing, we would greatly appreciate your attendance. According to her legal team, the more community support present, the better.

-As you enter the lobby and go through security, you can ask officers for directions to department 41. 

-Friends and family members will be seated just outside of the courtroom around 10:45am. We will head inside as soon as we are allowed to. 

-In case of an emergency, please check back here for updates. Her last hearing was postponed and we didn't find out until 9am the morning of her hearing. Should this happen again, we will notify supporters by 9:15am through Change.org. As of right now, we are expecting the hearing to go as planned.
