There is no verdict yet in the law suit to save historic CPGC from destruction BUT there is a lot of other news that you will want to learn about. TWO new lawsuits have been filed that challenge the fact that CDOT did NOT consider the impact of its Highway I 70 on historic CPGC or on neighborhoods when it submitted its Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to the Federal Highway Administration for approval. They are asking for a stay in federal court that would stop all work on the drain and on the highway expansion until all impacts on affected resources and neighborhoods have been considered. CDOT and Denver thought about these impacts but decided to ignore them as they would cost too much money and could stall the work for 2 - 3 years. Nice? If the suits succeed, it would be the next Governor of Colorado who would probably decide the fate of the boondoggle Highway I 70 expansion. Will it be a Democrat?
