CITY PARK FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS

Mar 22, 2017
I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM A RESIDENT WHO SAID THAT she heard that the destruction of DENVER'S HISTORIC City Park Golf Course to install a big new event center and an industrial storm drain was ... a "DONE DEAL."
NOT SO.
THE LAW SUIT TO SAVE CPGC GOES TO TRIAL ON AUGUST 21, 2017
Your yard signs are having a big impact. The city would like you to believe that the fight is over. IT IS FAR FROM OVER.

YOUR NEIGHBORS AT OVERLAND GOLF COURSE NEED A MINUTE OF YOUR TIME FOR CITY "SURVEY"

Overland Golf Course is the oldest course west of the Mississippi. It is irreplaceable open land in Denver, home to wildlife and an island of peace and quiet and an invaluable, green, rain water mitigation system. The open land captures millions of gallons of precious rainwater, cleans it in microbe rich soil and stores it for our use. This infrastructure is the wave of the future storm water mitigation and could save our lives when drought comes our way.
Denver wants to use this public land, now a golf course, for a 3 day, for profit, MULTI STAGE music festival designed to attract 200,000 people to this quiet neighborhood. NOISE? TRAFFIC? TRASH?
The festival would close the land to public use for 5 - 6 weeks. They admit that the grounds would be torn up but they say that the promoter has promised to "fix it" after the festival pulls out of town. HOW ARE THEY GONG TO "FIX" THE TRAUMATIZED WILDLIFE?
They are promising all kinds of jobs and funds for local projects in return for the destruction. NO DETAILS.
Native Americans and people all over the United States are fighting to preserve open space, nature, clean water, soil and air. Please stand up for the open space, wildlife and clean water in Denver.
PLEASE: Take this quick survey NOW and tell the city "HANDS OFF" Overland Golf Course.
