Petition updateTELL DENVER MAYOR HANCOCK TO STOP DESTROYING DENVER PARKS AND NEIGHBORHOODSCOME TO CPFAN MEETING AND MEET SOME OF THE OTHER 3000 PEOPLE WHO HAVE SIGNED PETITION TO SAVE CPGC.
CITY PARK FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS
Dec 22, 2016
OVER 3000 PEOPLE HAVE SIGNED YOUR PETITION! CPFAN.org Meeting: Tuesday/Jan3/ 6PM/ Park Hill Library 4705 Montview Blvd. / Membership is FREE. Sign up today: cpfan.org. We are well on our way to saving historic City Park Golf Course from destruction. The law suit to stop the City from chopping down 280+ big trees, bulldozing Bogey's and closing City Park Golf Course for two years, will have its day in court soon. The judge refused the City's request to dismiss the law suit. Mayor Hancock wants to use the lion's share, $300M ,of your recent storm water fee increase, to install a 1965 style drainage system that will not only ruin historic CPGC but ....could expose Denver residents to mosquito borne disease and toxic pollution if they dig up I 70/Vasquez Superfund site to install an old fashioned dirt ditch in Cole and a huge outfall in Globeville. And much... much more. WHY? To protect the as yet unapproved, 1965 style, environmental disaster, Highway I 70 expansion, from flooding. Also to save developers in the Western Stock show area the cost of providing all of their own water mitigation. The Mayor and his developer buddies are planning to hold the Winter Olympics in Denver in 2026. Who will reap the profits and who will get the bill if they bring the Olympics to Denver? Ask Sochi. http://www.playthegame.org/news/comments/2015/018_after-sochi-2014-costs-and-impacts-of-russias-olympic-games/ We hope to see you on January 3 at the CPFAN meeting. Yard signs will be available to pick up.
