Thanks to all who have hit the FUNDRAISER button. You are making it possible to bring our message to SAVE CITY PARK GOLF COURSE to the streets of Denver. TRAGEDY & ACTION The obsolete 1965 style industrial drainage system that threatens CPGC, is just one component of a multi million dollar, multi faceted proposal to collect our precious rain water and dump is into the river, gone forever. Other components would be installed in Cole and Globeville neighborhoods. Children in Cole, Globeville , Swansea and Elyria will be exposed to toxic pollutants from un remediated parts of the I 70 Vasquez SUPERFUND SITE (a federal designation for the most polluted sites in the nation. ) This in addition to the toxic air pollution from I 70 that causes children in I 70 close neighborhoods to have 40% more visits to ER because of asthma attacks and a 70% increase in heart ailments in adults, than any other neighborhood in Denver. Mayor Hancock and United Way are going to donate $120,000 for new windows in 2 schools that would be within spitting distance of the expanded i 70. What happens when the children go out to play or go home? https://youtu.be/rTemuBY_SmE City Park Friends and Neighbors (CPFAN.org)stands in solidarity with our neighbors in Cole, Globeville , Swansea and Elyria who have suffered massive health, economic and social injustice since 1965 when I 70 was installed. https://youtu.be/Yu9HL_3rJb0 We believe that our "fees" and tax dollars should not be spent without our vote, to compound that injustice by installing a 1965 style drainage system in these low-income, minority neighborhoods that would expose children to additional pollution from SUPERFUND sites. There are better solutions.
