Petition updateTELL DENVER MAYOR HANCOCK TO STOP DESTROYING DENVER PARKS AND NEIGHBORHOODSNOW 1500 DEFENDERS OF CPGC/SHOW UP AND SAY "NO"
CITY PARK FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS
22 Oct 2016
All 1500 of you have now told Mayor Hancock, Governor Hickenlooper and Denver City Council, not to forever alter historic City Park Golf Course, to install a wasteful, 1965-style industrial drainage system, whose sole goal is to collect and dump rain water, as quickly as possible, into the South Platte River. Thank you. The trees and open land in CPGC is the most modern , efficient way to capture, clean and store our precious rain water. Why destroy the best rain system on earth to throw millions of gallons of needed water down the drain? Something is wrong here. We need our urban forests. Denver is going to have a Golf Course Redesign Drop In ( keeps everyone quiet and in control) at the City Park Golf Course Club House on Tuesday, October 25, 5:30-7:30PM 26th and York St. Please consider dropping in to let Hancock know that Denver needs its urban forest and a rain water conservation system that will protect us and our families as climate change heats up our city. Here are two TED talks to inspire you: https://www.ted.com/talks/suzanne_simard_how_trees_talk_to_each_other?language=en#t-52155 https://youtu.be/gzt69QnKMFs BELOW: Ken and Mary Ann Haug ADOPT-A-TREE in City Park Golf Course with a $50 donation on to help us buy yard signs to Save City Park Golf Course. Click on the FUNDRAISER button to help. PLEASE SHARE OUR POST ON FACEBOOK AND EMAIL . Together we are going to stop Hancock's bulldozers from destroying City Park Golf Course. See you Sunday at 11:00 AM at Bogey's in City Park Golf Course for coffee. 26th and York . We will have a "SAVE CPGC" sign on our table.
