Tell Democrats to Not Cross the Hasan Piker Red Line

Tell Democrats to Not Cross the Hasan Piker Red Line
The Issue
Antisemitism has no political home. It is neither a right-wing problem nor a left-wing problem. It is an American problem, and it requires American leaders from both parties to name it, condemn it, and refuse to normalize it regardless of the source or the political cost of speaking out.
The antisemitism coming from the far right is well documented and widely condemned by the Democratic Party. But antisemitism on the left is real, it is growing, and it is too often being minimized and normalized by Democratic politicians.
Hasan Piker, a top-three contender in 2024 for our Antisemite of the Year (losing out only to Candace Owens), has become one of the most influential progressive left voices online, with millions of followers.
This is a man who said that "America deserved 9/11, dude. F–k it, I'm saying it," that Hamas is a thousand times better than Israel, and even hosted streams where he denied or dismissed Hamas sexual violence, going so far as to say, "It doesn't matter if f–king rapes happened on October 7th." Piker featured a Houthi terrorist on his stream who openly identifies as such, and he has explicitly called for the murder of a sitting U.S. Senator.
Nonetheless, he has been featured at a campaign rally with Democratic Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib, Summer Lee, and Rashida Tlaib for Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna has appeared on his Twitch stream, and said he "would go again."
This is not a close call. The standard that Democrats rightly apply to right-wing antisemites must apply equally to left-wing ones. There is no version of opposing hatred that carves out exceptions for political allies or content creators with large audiences. Antisemitism is antisemitism regardless of the ideological packaging it arrives in.
Democratic leaders must say so clearly, publicly, and without hedging. They must decline to appear on platforms with documented antisemitic records. They must stop treating engagement with extremist voices as a savvy outreach strategy. And they must recognize that silence in the face of left-wing antisemitism does not just fail Jewish Americans. It undermines every claim the Democratic Party makes to being the party of inclusion, dignity, and equal protection for all Americans.
Sign this petition to urge Democratic Party leaders, elected officials, and candidates to adopt and enforce a zero-tolerance policy on any association with Hasan Piker.
