Tell British Airways to Put G-BOAB Concorde 102 in a museum

The Issue

Most of us know about the Concorde G-BOAB displayed at London Heathrow. Most of us think it's a wonderful sight, but little know the sad story behind it.

G-BOAB, Concorde 102 (MSN 208) was the third Aérospatiale/BAC Concorde delivered to British Airways, first flying on 18th May 1976.

Heading forward to 2000, after the Air France crash, 'Alpha Bravo' wasn't given the post-crash modifications along with G-BOAA. They were both stored at LHR as BA only needed 5 Concordes. G-BOAB was then used to test BA's new Project Rocket seating, using AB to test the new bathrooms. When AB was being put back to service with the new seats, the re-fit became a big mess and they stopped the process. Sister G-BOAA was sent to Scotland while G-BOAB was stranded at Heathrow.

AB was moved around LHR a lot, from Point Rocket to Engine Test Bay. In 2010, a horrifying picture of the inside of AB was shared.

The seats and carpet were all removed, and the plane was filled with magazines to keep the plane from toppling over. Apparently, most of the cockpit instruments were removed as well. Apparently, holes were drilled into it and there were rats as well.

Even the flight deck, what most of the interior and flight deck is now in G-BBDG at Brooklands

An update from 2018 showed the empty shell's interior stripped to the bare bones, as seen here.

The 'Queen of the Skies' does not deserve to rot away like this.
