Large cable companies have successfully lobbied not only to strip away Net Neutrality and important privacy regulations, but also made it unlawful for state and city governments to properly police them. This leaves us with no choice other than to replace Comcast with our own municipal broadband network. 

The repeal of Net Neutrality poses a massive risk to freedom of information, equal opportunity online, and even democracy itself. We are demanding the City of Portland establish and maintain a broadband network which is net neutral, private, fast, reliable, accessible, and affordable. In the 21st century, the internet is an essential utility and should be administered accordingly.
