Taunton needs a decent Sunday Bus service

Taunton is growing fast – but when it comes to Sunday and Bank Holiday bus services, our town is being left behind.

During the week, many of Taunton’s suburbs and Park & Ride routes are well served, helping people get to work, school, shops and appointments. But on Sundays and Bank Holidays, large parts of the town are left with little or no service at all.

Meanwhile, both Bridgwater and Yeovil have seen the return of Sunday bus services over the last two years – and passenger demand has grown strongly. Better Sunday buses support local businesses, boost town centre footfall, help people visit the popular Sunday markets, attend events in Vivary Park, travel to work, see friends and family, and reduce isolation for those without access to a car.

A modern county town like Taunton deserves a seven-day bus network.
