We are standard citizens, homeowners, and families who are completely opposed to the proposed placement and construction of a massive computer data and cryptocurrency mining facility outside city limits and adjacent to existing residential housing.
This heavy industrial site will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Across the country, similar facilities have been documented to generate extreme, relentless heat and continuous high-decibel noise alongside low-frequency vibrations. These conditions destroy sleep, trigger chronic health issues (like severe migraines, vertigo, and elevated blood pressure), and plummet nearby property values. A quiet, peaceful residential neighborhood is no place for this.
We have a common-sense solution. We demand that county commissioners and zoning boards deny all permits and variances for this facility near residential homes.
Instead, our local leadership should direct this heavy industrial project to the massive, unpopulated, and infrastructure-ready acreage at the former Milan Arsenal property. The Arsenal already has the robust power grid infrastructure built for heavy industry, has no surrounding homes, and serves as a perfect buffer zone. This protects local families while still allowing for industrial development in the county.
