Take targeted military action against leaders of the coup in Myanmar!
The Issue
Dear The Rt Hon Prime Minister Boris Johnson, The President of US Mr. Joe Biden, Secretary-General of the United Nations Mr. António Guterres, Commander, Admiral Philip S. On 1st of February 2021, leader of Myanmar military, Min Aung Hlaing has unlawfully detained our president, President Win Myint, State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, government officials and some senior leaders from National league for Democracy (NLD) party.
Leaders of the coup have accused the NLD government of electoral fraud in November 2020 election by using fabricated data without any solid evidence. Military coup leader has formed a new illegal council called "State Administration Council" to restrict the basic fundamental rights of the people. And they have started exercising illegal and unlawful acts towards the innocent civilians. They have now seized the Covid-19 prevention and control fund and also the vaccination programme, planned by State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. Electricity, internet and phone line usages have been under their watch to cover up their brutal plan to crack down the peaceful demonstration and civil disobedience movement of the people.
Also, the leader of military coup has released the number criminals over 23,000 recently and those people are going around the country, some have a stick and knife to threaten the general public. Some have set fire the properties, poisoning the drinking waters and some have vandalised the properties of the people who join the civil disobedience movement. Police are also going around the houses around midnight and arresting innocent medical doctors, lawyers, and many young professions.
During this difficult time, elected MPs from NLD and ethnic minority parties have assembled via online meeting, taken oath and have formed the new government according to the 2020 November election results.
We strongly urge you to recognise our newly formed government and save the people of Myanmar by taking effective and targeted military action against the leaders of military coup because we have learned from the past experiences that the bloodshed crackdown is going to be the next we will see without effective intervention from international communities.
