We are concerned parents in Pleasanton, CA, urging you to join us in opposing the following proposed budget cuts by the Pleasanton Unified School District. If approved, these cuts will severely impact our children's education and well-being. 

The proposed budget cuts target essential services such as district parent liaisons (F.3), attendance specialists (F.4), social workers (F.5), behavior specialists (F.6), wellness center staff (F.10), elementary science specialists (J.1), elementary physical education specialists (J.2), library/media assistants (J.4), and the Outdoor Education program (J.6). Each of these services plays a critical role in nurturing a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Parent liaisons bridge the gap between home and school, ensuring that families are engaged and informed about their children's academics. Attendance specialists encourage consistent school attendance, a key factor in academic success. Social workers and behavior specialists provide much-needed support for students' mental health and well-being. The wellness center is a safe haven for students needing immediate emotional assistance, and elementary science and physical education specialists enrich our students' learning experiences.

Library/media assistants are instrumental in fostering a love of reading and learning, while the Outdoor Education program offers invaluable hands-on experiences that inspire environmental stewardship and a deeper understanding of our natural world.

Cutting these programs would undermine the holistic education model that our schools strive to offer. Many families in Pleasanton rely on these services, and their removal would disproportionately affect those already facing challenges.
