Take A Stand Against Exploitation of International Students By Employers In Germany

Take A Stand Against Exploitation of International Students By Employers In Germany
The Issue
Hi, I'm Furqan Sohail, an international student in Germany. Just like many others, I've had a tough time at work. The owner of a restaurant in Berlin, said I'd get fair pay and a contract, but that didn't happen. Instead, I was forced to work for less money than I should have been paid, and it wasn't legal.
In the school year 2019/2020, Germany had more than 400,000 international students, and a lot of us have to do odd jobs to get by. Sadly, many of us get treated unfairly by our bosses. Germany gets so many students every year, so the government should do more to make sure we're safe at work. If we do get treated badly, it should be easy for us to get help. But it's usually too expensive for us to get legal advice, and buying insurance is hard, so we often don't say anything. The authorities should do things to make it simpler for us to stand up for ourselves.
This isn't just something that happened to me. Lots of other international students in Germany have similar problems because we don't know much about the laws that protect us at work.
We want the government to make sure that all workers, no matter where they're from, are treated fairly. We want clear contracts and fair pay for everyone. And we want to be able to report bosses who are treating us badly without being scared of what might happen to us.
We also think that schools and the government should teach us more about our rights at work, so we know what we deserve.
And finally, we want bosses like Ansar Butt to be held responsible for treating international students badly just to make more money.
If you sign this petition, you're showing your support for us and helping us fight against the unfair treatment of international students in Germany. Because no one should have to suffer because they don't know their rights or are scared to speak up.
